Hey y'all...I started this blog as a portfolio of everything I'm doing with my own little homeschool in it's very first year running! ;)
I have always been a big supporter of the need for young children to socialize, and I never thought I myself would be a homeschooling mama primarily for this reason. However, when my oldest son turned three and we started looking into the options for preschool, I realized that he would get the best education for him as an individual if I integrated a curriculum into our daily routines at home.
I'm not just a stay-at-home mom, I'm a part-time online student, too! Four years ago I left a job that I loved with hours that just wouldn't work for the way I pictured myself raising my baby-to-be. I took a leap and began online college with a timeline that would match up with starting practicums (student teaching) right about when my baby was ready for preschool. Of course, as with most things in life, our plans didn't go at all as I planned them out at that time.
For now, I'm almost done with that degree, and I'm putting my knowledge into practice at home as I embark on my first year of teaching with my two boys (ages 3.5 and 15 months) as my very first students! :) I'll be posting here with our completed lessons and some updates on the things I've learned along the way.
